As supplier to a large retail client for nearly 30 years, imageData Group has evolved with them to develop a fully automated system to supply store specific sets of price tickets, promotional offer tickets and point of sale materials to circa 1000 stores throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe.

Our client asked for a solution to allow them to refresh their stores throughout the year with new promotional themes, quickly implement weekly price/offer changes, address market trends and combat competitive activity. The ability to make price/offer decisions and changes right up to going to press are critical to ensure a competitive advantage.

This was facilitated by a bespoke system built specifically for the client by our software developers to enable the preparation of responsive in-store promotions. The system auto artworks all promotions removing the requirement for the services of a designer or artworker. Information is automatically transferred between the client and our IT Team to ensure all product descriptions and prices are updated in real time. The system creates artwork and PDF proofs for thousands of items in a matter of seconds. This ultimately provides guaranteed accuracy to a once manually intensive role fraught with errors.

We automatically collate the ticketing sets in walk store order making it simple for staff to refresh the in-store shelves and displays and save significant time. Before this solution was introduced it would take 10 people up to 10 hours to merchandise one store. With store specific print, it now takes 3 people, 3 hours, maximum.

Store specific allows clients to move away from costly generic print and pack. Our client maintains that this has revolutionised the way they promote in store with the benefits being; 20% reduction in the volume of tickets printed, 17% reduction in print costs per cycle, less waste, increased efficiency of staff as they can now merchandise quicker and spend more time addressing client’s needs. This also promotes staff morale and meets the client’s objective to improve the work life balance of Store Manager’s. It is environmentally friendly and fully compliant with our ISO14001 accreditation.

Further savings have been achieved by agreeing print days and a despatch day enabling all orders to be produced, packed and consolidated into one delivery per week.

The system ensures all prices, images and logos are fully approved and compliant, allowing for brand consistency and to meet the client’s exacting GDPR requirements. Ultimately, they now have complete integrity over their pricing and corporate brand guidelines.
